Leak TruStream – Network Streamer with Vintage Design

The legendary British audio brand Leak has introduced its first music streamer, the Leak TruStream. Following the brand’s return to the audio world in 2020 with models such as the Leak Stereo 130 integrated amplifier and the Leak CDT CD transport, the company has now turned its attention to modern music streaming, without which virtually no contemporary stereo system can do today.

The Leak TruStream music streamer is built around the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC chip with the proprietary HyperStream II architecture, complemented by Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology designed to reduce timing errors and improve sonic accuracy. The Leak TruStream also employs an active post-DAC filter developed, according to the company, to “fully unlock the potential of the performance and dynamic range” of this DAC.

The Leak TruStream uses the Silent Angel streaming platform – the same one found in the recently introduced half-width Mission 778S network player. The Leak TruStream network streamer supports playback of PCM audio files at resolutions up to 32-bit / 768 kHz, as well as DSD up to DSD512. It also supports Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, and TuneIn internet radio, as well as Silent Angel’s own internet radio platform. The new model is compatible with UPnP/DLNA for playback of files from home network servers and is certified Roon Ready.

For physical connectivity, the Leak TruStream offers a USB-C audio input and two USB-A ports for use with external storage devices. In addition, the player is equipped with optical and coaxial digital outputs, as well as balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analogue outputs. A 6.5 mm headphone jack is also provided.

The Leak TruStream music streamer is styled in a vintage “mid-century” aesthetic, combining a walnut wood-veneered cabinet with an aluminium chassis. The new product will go on sale in April 2026 at a recommended retail price of €1,199 / US$1,495.
