The legendary Kondo Audio Note Japan brand has announced the release of its latest preamplifier, the G-700i. The manufacturer states that this model was developed as a linear preamplifier that combines the rich and mature sound of the G-70 with the power of the flagship G-1000.
The Kondo Audio Note Japan G-700i is neither a simplified version of the G-1000, nor an improved version of the G-70, but uses a new circuit design. The newly developed 50-step volume control unit uses MELF resistors that were selected during numerous listening sessions. By mounting them on a high-quality rotary switch and placing them in a copper screen, it was possible to achieve exceptional protection against interference and distortion.
The main features of the Kondo Audio Note JapanG-700i preamplifier:
Equipped with a 50-step attenuator that uses new high-quality MELF resistors.
The power supply and preamplifier are housed in separate housings, which helps minimize vibration and magnetic flux leakage. At the same time, having a separate power section, the housings are designed to fit in a standard-sized space in an audio rack.
The decoupling capacitors are placed near the gain module to minimize signal loops.
Various components of firm production are used, including SSW and pure silver foil capacitors, and each component is carefully hand-made. Attenuator block, copper main chassis, pure silver foil capacitors, pure silver lead resistors, SSW wire material, pure silver shielded wire, silver-palladium plated RCA jacks, zirconium vacuum tube jacks. In addition, high-quality original components are used, such as custom-made electrolytic capacitors, power transformers and chokes.
Pure copper housing.
Symmetrical front panel with the same curved edges as the GE-7.
