Klipsch has introduced a special anniversary version of its iconic loudspeaker system – the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition. The release marks the 80th anniversary of the Klipschorn, whose history began in 1946. Over the decades, this loudspeaker has become one of the symbols of horn-loaded Hi-Fi and an important part of Paul Klipsch’s legacy. The new model will be produced in a limited run: only 280 pairs will be made for the global market. Production takes place at the Klipsch factory in Hope, Arkansas, where the brand continues to manufacture models from its classic Heritage series.

The anniversary Klipschorn differs noticeably from the traditional version not only in its exterior design, but also in its technical architecture. The system is based on a fully horn-loaded two-way design with an active crossover. A new K-5-K horn with a 2-inch throat and a 4-inch compression driver is used for the upper frequency range. Its motor system was developed with engineering solutions used in the flagship Klipsch Jubilee model.
The low-frequency range is handled by the company’s signature 15-inch K-33-E driver. It operates in a folded horn enclosure, which remains one of the key features of the Klipschorn design. Like the original model, the anniversary version is intended for corner placement. In this configuration, the room walls effectively become an extension of the loudspeaker system, helping to increase efficiency and achieve a more powerful bass response.

For this reason, the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition cannot be considered a universal loudspeaker for arbitrary room placement. This system requires proper installation and a suitable room, but when these conditions are met, it can reveal the advantages of the classic horn-loaded concept: high sensitivity, strong dynamics and a large, effortless sense of scale.
An important part of the updated design is the external active DSP crossover. It is responsible for driver integration, time delays, phase alignment, equalization and signal level control. Users also have access to low- and high-frequency adjustments, allowing the loudspeakers to be more precisely adapted to the room and the owner’s personal preferences.

The design of the anniversary version emphasizes its collectible status. The cabinets are finished in carefully matched Tigerwood veneer, while decorative brass elements follow the shape of the folded horn. Premium materials are used in both the construction and finish, including genuine brass and a cast aluminum horn. As a result, the model is perceived not only as a loudspeaker system, but also as a commemorative object dedicated to the history of Klipsch.

The package will include a special 180-gram vinyl release featuring archival KlipschTape recordings from the 1950s. These were the very recordings Paul Klipsch used to demonstrate his loudspeakers to dealers and enthusiasts. The expected price of the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition is approximately 25,000–27,000 US dollars per pair.
