Following last year's announcement of the active Diva Utopia speakers, larger speakers have now been announced — Focal Diva Mezza Utopia. Equipped with band-pass amplification from Naim Audio, a built-in digital-to-analog converter and a streamer, the model is the "final and only link" for forming a High-End audio system.
The amplifier power now reached 500 W per speaker. At 127cm tall and weighing 90 kg, each Focal Diva Mezza Utopia speaker features a signature 27mm beryllium inverted dome tweeter with an "M" profile (IAL2 type) driven by a 90W Class AB amplifier, a 16.5cm sandwich cone (W) midrange driver (130W amplification) and four 20.5cm woofers in a push-push configuration (280W Class AB amplification).
The larger cabinet, with a volume of up to 62 litres compared to 50 litres for the Diva Utopia, provides an extended frequency range from 25Hz to 40,000Hz (with an error of 3 dB), and a maximum sound pressure of up to 120 dB. Focal Diva Mezza Utopia is ready to work in halls up to 100 square meters. The cherry on the cake is the proprietary Focal ADAPT (Adaptive Acoustic Personal Tuning) room correction system.
Focal Diva Mezza Utopia supports Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz Connect and other streaming services. Not forgotten is the HDMI eARC/CEC port, TOSLINK digital optical input, analog line input on RCA connectors, USB 2.0 Type A port and RJ45 Ethernet port. Ultra Wideband (Ultra Wideband - UWB) connection from SPARK Microsystems, used to connect two Focal Diva Mezza Utopia speakers, provides wireless transmission of high-resolution signals without compression with parameters up to 24 bit/96 kHz. When using a cable, communication with a resolution of 24 bit/192 kHz is possible.
Focal Diva Mezza Utopia will cost 65,000 euros.
