Devialet Unveils Phantom Ultimate CI Installation Speakers with Dante Support

Devialet has expanded its Phantom family of active loudspeakers with the introduction of the specialised Phantom Ultimate CI range for the professional installation market. The series comprises two models – the Phantom Ultimate CI 108 dB and the more compact Phantom Ultimate CI 98 dB. The new speakers are designed for home cinemas, luxury residential developments, commercial venues and other installations requiring centralised control of a multichannel audio system. They will make their public debut at CEDIA Expo 2026, taking place in Denver from September 1 to 4.

Unlike the standard wireless Phantom models, the Ultimate CI versions feature a new network platform developed specifically for professional applications. Devialet has replaced conventional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity with integrated Audinate Dante Audio over IP support, a wired Ethernet interface and remote administration tools intended for installers and system integrators.

Each loudspeaker connects directly to a network switch using a standard Ethernet cable. Uncompressed audio is transmitted over the network, eliminating the need for separate Dante converters or additional interface modules. Both models can operate within the same installation: for example, the Phantom Ultimate CI 108 dB can be used in the main home cinema, while the smaller Phantom Ultimate CI 98 dB speakers can be installed in adjoining rooms or secondary zones.

The integrated Dante Embedded platform enables the creation of large-scale systems supporting up to 128 audio input channels and 128 output channels. For system management, Devialet has developed an open IP API and a web-based interface through which each speaker can be configured individually. Installers can restrict user access, set maximum volume levels and adjust key parameters without relying on Devialet’s consumer application.

In addition, Devialet plans to release certified drivers for integrating the Phantom Ultimate CI speakers with Crestron, Crestron Home, Savant, Control4, RTI and NICE/ELAN control systems in autumn 2026. Power over Ethernet support has not been announced for the new models. Ethernet is therefore used exclusively for transmitting audio, network data and control commands, while a separate power connection must be provided for each loudspeaker.

The acoustic and amplification sections of the Phantom Ultimate CI models are based on technologies used in the consumer Phantom Ultimate range. These include the ADH New Gen hybrid amplification system, which combines an analogue Class A amplifier with a digital Class D stage. The speakers also feature Devialet’s SAM driver control system, HBI extended low-frequency reproduction technology and internal 32-bit/96 kHz digital signal processing.

The flagship Devialet Phantom Ultimate CI 108 dB features an amplification system with a total output of 1,100 watts. Its specified frequency response extends from 14 Hz to 35 kHz within ±6 dB. The more compact Phantom Ultimate CI 98 dB delivers a total output of 400 watts and covers a frequency range from 18 Hz to 25 kHz. Total system latency, including the operation of the internal digital signal processor, is rated at 18 ms.

Both speakers operate in Monitoring Mode by default, providing the most neutral possible frequency response. Devialet recommends using an external DSP processor or Dante matrix for equalisation, room correction and channel routing. The Phantom Ultimate CI models will be available in Light Pearl, Deep Forest and Opéra de Paris finishes, with the latter decorated with 22-carat gold leaf. The professional Devialet Care programme includes a five-year warranty, although pricing and the launch date have yet to be announced.
