Canton Reference 9 GS Edition – Special Version of the Popular Loudspeakers

The German loudspeaker manufacturer Canton has introduced a special version of its popular compact bookshelf monitors, the Canton Reference 9 GS Edition, developed under the guidance of company founder Günther Seitz. The new model combines selected components from the flagship Canton Reference Alpha line with the compact concept of the Reference 9. The speakers are offered in four exclusive finishes.

The Reference 9 GS Edition loudspeakers have been upgraded with components from the latest Reference Alpha models – currently the brand’s flagship series. According to the manufacturer, a key element is the high-end crossover network featuring Mundorf MKP capacitors. This, the company states, ensures exceptional clarity and highly detailed musical reproduction.

For precise and transparent high-frequency reproduction, a dome tweeter with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating is used, first introduced in the Reference Alpha models. Combined with a new acoustic lens that functions as an additional waveguide and mechanical “air cushion,” radiation efficiency is improved and the usable frequency range is extended. According to Canton, the finest nuances remain clear, airy, and free from distortion. The Canton Reference 9 GS Edition loudspeakers are equipped with a new connection panel featuring gold-plated WBT nextgen speaker terminals.

The speakers are available in four elegant finishes: satin white, black piano lacquer, walnut, and a new exclusive “sand” color. This warm, refined shade adds a particularly luxurious and cozy character to the lineup. The recommended retail price in Europe is €5,000 per pair in black, white, and sand finishes. The walnut version is priced at €5,500 per pair.
