Arcam Introduces Radia Series Loudspeakers

British company Arcam has expanded the Radia family of audio products by unveiling a new range of loudspeakers at ISE 2026 in Barcelona. Until now the series consisted exclusively of amplifiers, but the manufacturer now aims to offer complete audio systems within the Radia lineup. The Arcam Radia range includes two bookshelf models, a centre channel speaker, an active subwoofer and two floorstanding loudspeakers. As a result, the series covers both stereo configurations and multichannel home-cinema systems.

Although for more than fifty years Arcam has mainly focused on electronic components, loudspeaker design is not unfamiliar territory for the brand. Back in the mid-1980s the company released the Arcam Two monitor model, followed later by the Muso loudspeakers. With the Radia series, Arcam effectively returns to loudspeakers, presenting them as a natural extension of its electronics-focused philosophy, now supported by the research and measurement capabilities of its parent company Harman Luxury Audio Group.

Visually, the Radia speakers follow the style of the rest of the portfolio: cabinets finished in black-walnut veneer with signature yellow accents. Magnetic grilles provide a clean front panel, and optional solid-aluminium stands are available for the bookshelf models. According to Arcam, the speakers are designed for harmonious integration into living spaces – both with Radia electronics and with other high-end Hi-Fi and AV components.

One of the key features of the Radia platform is system compatibility. The speakers can be used with amplifiers from any brand, but additional optimisation is available when paired with Radia electronics. When combined with the Radia SA35 or Radia SA45 streaming amplifiers, the proprietary AEQ equaliser can automatically calibrate the amplifier to match each specific loudspeaker model. The same optimisation method will also appear in future AV components of the series, extending it to multichannel systems.

All Radia loudspeakers share a common platform. Cabinets are internally braced to increase rigidity and reduce unwanted resonances. The five passive models feature a 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter made from Deep Ceramic Composite material, mounted in an Acoustic Lens waveguide to improve dispersion and phase alignment. Low and mid frequencies are reproduced by micro-ceramic composite cone drivers chosen for their optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio: Radia R15, R35 and R35C – 130 mm drivers, Radia R25 and R45 – 165 mm drivers. The three-way floorstanding models also include dedicated midrange drivers: R35 – 130 mm, R45 – 165 mm.

The Radia R25B active subwoofer combines a 250 mm fibre-composite driver with a 750-watt digital amplifier. The R35C centre channel is designed for clear dialogue reproduction thanks to a wide-dispersion tweeter and dual 130 mm woofers. The floorstanding R35 is intended for small to medium rooms, while the flagship R45 offers greater output and deeper bass for larger spaces. Arcam considers it an ideal partner for the Radia SA45 streaming amplifier.
