American company YG Acoustics has introduced Titan, its new flagship floorstanding loudspeaker system, which joins the Ultimate series. The model has become the brand’s largest and most ambitious project: each speaker stands more than two meters tall, weighs over 450 kg, and is aimed at the ultra-premium High End audio segment.
Development of Titan took around three years. YG Acoustics emphasizes that the loudspeaker is the result of many years of research into vibration, acoustic modeling, and the way the human ear perceives music. The new model is intended to demonstrate the full extent of the company’s engineering capabilities and set a new benchmark for the brand’s flagship systems.

At the heart of YG Acoustics Titan is a symmetrical configuration of seven main drivers, complemented by a separate sub-bass driver. The loudspeaker features YG’s proprietary lattice tweeter, a pair of 15 cm midrange drivers with aluminum cones, a pair of 18 cm mid-bass drivers, and a pair of 26 cm bass drivers. Lower in the frequency range, a specially developed 32 cm sub-bass driver with an aluminum cone and a massive magnet structure takes over.

The drivers are arranged symmetrically around the tweeter, which, according to the developers, helps achieve more precise phase alignment and the effect of a point-source sound. YG Acoustics states that each driver is aligned in phase with its neighboring drivers across a wide frequency range. This architecture is designed to deliver a large-scale, stable, and realistic soundstage both at low listening levels and at high volume.

The cabinet of YG Acoustics Titan has also been designed with extreme attention to rigidity and resonance control. It features a five-layer structure: three layers of special aluminum alloys are separated by specially selected damping materials. The front baffles are made from solid 75 mm-thick aerospace-grade aluminum, heat-treated and precisely milled to tolerances of one-thousandth of a millimeter. Inside the cabinet, reinforced bracing, composite damping, and computer-optimized structures are used to diffuse and absorb internal reflections.

The loudspeaker crossover is housed in an external unit. It is built on a specially developed multilayer circuit board with enhanced dielectric properties and internal resonance damping. The conductive traces are milled from a thick layer of high-purity copper, while their shape is optimized through modeling to minimize interference and distortion. The crossover enclosure itself is made from a specially selected polymer material to prevent unwanted electromagnetic field interaction with the audio signal.

YG Acoustics will offer the Titan loudspeakers in three main configurations. Titan Passive is a fully passive five-way system with eight drivers and an external crossover; it can operate with one, two, three, four, or five amplifier channels per speaker. Titan Active Sub combines a passive four-way section with a dedicated external 1 kW amplifier for the sub-bass range. Titan Live is a fully integrated solution with external audiophile amplifiers, a DSP crossover, fiber-optic connection to the Live Controller, Roon Ready support, as well as digital and analog inputs.

The price of the YG Acoustics Titan loudspeakers matches the status of the model. The recommended retail price of Titan Passive is $880,000 per pair, the Titan Active Sub version is priced at $910,000, while a pair of fully active Titan Live loudspeakers costs $1,000,000. In addition, the company has prepared a special gold-plated edition: this version of YG Acoustics Titan may cost around $2 million, with the final price depending on the thickness of the applied gold layer.
