The Pro-Ject presented a new vinyl turntable, PRO S Balanced. The body of the Pro-Ject Debut PRO S Balanced turntable is made of MDF and has hand-painting in eight layers. The turntable features a belt drive with an aluminum subplatter, which is designed to guarantee increased speed accuracy. The main platter is also made of aluminum - first using a die-casting process and then with the highest precision using a CNC machine.
The turntable motor is controlled by an electronic speed controller and allows easy switching between 33 1/3 and 45 rpm. When using a specially designed round belt, a speed of 78 rpm is also supported for playing shellac records. The Pro-Ject Debut PRO S Balanced turntable is equipped with an external 15 V DC 0.8 A power supply unit, which can be replaced with an optional Pro-Ject Power Box S3 Phono, which, according to the manufacturer, brings a significant improvement in sound quality.
The Pro-Ject Debut PRO S Balanced turntable is factory-equipped with tonearm (an S-shaped tonearm made of aluminum and anodized in black). The length of the tonearm is 10 inches, which guarantees tracking of the record groove with minimal error. The S-shape allows for a higher effective mass than straight tonearms, making it suitable for use with heavy MC-cartridges. The tonearm allows easy adjustment of VTA and azimuth. Also, the Pro-Ject Debut PRO S Balanced turntable offers factory-equipped MM-cartridge Pro-Ject Pick it S2 C MM.
The package of Pro-Ject Debut PRO S Balanced turntable, in addition to the dust cover, includes a 78 rpm belt, a 7-inch adapter, and a Pro-Ject Record Puck E clamp. The retail price of the turntable is 999 euros.
