Nordost QNET7 – Improving Ethernet Connections

15.09.2025 13:42 | ~1 minute read

Nordost has released the Nordost QNET7, a second-level audiophile switch. The new product minimizes noise generated by high-speed digital transmission, reduces jitter, and provides a significant improvement in sound quality in digital systems.

Nordost QNET7 is equipped with seven Ethernet ports:

Ports 1–5: auto-sensing 1000BASE-T (1 Gbps) ports for high-speed connection to routers, NAS drives, and other network devices.

Port 6: auto-sensing 100BASE-TX (100 Mbps), optimized specifically for audio with additional noise control — optimized for connecting streamers, servers, or DACs.

Port 7: Compatible with 1000BASE-T (IEEE 802.3ab) and 1000BASE-LX/SX [802.3z-1998 (CL38)] SFP transceivers/modules, allowing it to be used as either an additional RJ-45 port or as an optical port.

The heart of the Nordost QNET7 switch is nine low-noise independent power supplies that eliminate crosstalk and interference between components. The result is improved audio transparency and precise imaging.

When used in a system with a Nordost QSOURCE linear power supply, QRT Stand Mounts and Sort Kone anti-resonance feet, the effect of the Nordost QNET7 switch is further enhanced.
