The original Klipsch LA SCALA loudspeakers were released in 1963 – the model has remained in production for years and has earned a truly cult status. Well, meet the new version of the Klipsch LA SCALA AL6 – for the first time in many years, it uses a vented box design and significantly expands the depth of the bass.
The heart of the Klipsch LA SCALA AL6 is the K-771 compression tweeter on a K-792 horn with a new, patented, extended phase plug to prevent cancellations and equalize wavelengths. The midrange is also handled by the absolutely new K-1133-HP compression driver (adds a 1” to the drivers on previous AL5 models). The drivers is housed in the new K-406M patented Tractrix horn with a shorter (2”) throat. Finally, the bass is handled by the K-281 12” woofer in a patented horn-loaded vented system – this system extends bass notes to 40 Hz while maintaining the overall highest sensitivity of the acoustics at 103 dB.
The Klipsch LA SCALA AL6 can be additionally equipped with an active Heritage Active DSP crossover – and operate in a fully active mode, aligning time and phase. With 120 dB of maximum sound pressure, the speakers are suitable even for large rooms. The price of the new speakers is $14,998 / €19,998 per pair.

Treehaus Audiolab has announced the Treehaus Audiolab LCR Phono reference vacuum tube phono preamplifier. To equalize the signal, the device uses only passive components: inductors (L), capacitors (C) and resistors (R).
Rotel DX-5 is a compact model, but despite its dimensions, the device does not use digital amplification and operates in class A/B, reaching 2 x 33 W into 4 Ohm load and 2 x 25 W into 8 Ohm speakers. The new product is equipped with a power supply based on a powerful toroidal transformer created by Rotel itself, and high-current transistors.
The Totaldac d1-total digital-to-analog converter has been introduced – according to the company, this device guarantees the maximum possible for a single-block design with external PSU. “Under the hood”, in addition to the d1-triunity DAC converter, there is also volume control, a network streamer (latest version developed for the d1-streamer-live), 40 femtoseconds oscillators, a microfilter USB loop (developed for the d1-streamer-live) and anti-vibration supports.
