Jadis JS5 – Dual-Block Reference Tube DAC

06.04.2025 06:31 | ~1 minute read

French company Jadis presented the first DAC of a new range, Jadis JS5 - a dual-block digital-to-analog converter of the highest echelon, using a tubes (four dual triodes in the signal path, as well as two pentodes for controlling an external power supply - 2 x ECC82, 2 x ECC88, 1 x EL84 and 1 x EF86).

Digital-to-analog conversion in Jadis JS5 is entrusted to an eight-channel 32-bit Sabre ES9038PRO chip from ESS Technology with Hyperstream technology. The model is equipped with a multi-stage power supply, made in a separate case; the power supply uses separate transformers of special winding for digital and analog stages, which eliminates noise and provides maximum power reserve. Power transformers are wound directly at the Jadis plant.

The commutation arsenal of the new product includes four digital inputs, and the analog music signal is output both through an unbalanced output on RCA connectors and through a balanced one on XLR.
