dB Module Model 2E – More Concrete Speakers

dB Module, a company specializing in the development of acoustic systems with concrete enclosures, is releasing the new dB Module Model 2E two-way speakers. The dB Module Model 2E enclosures are made of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC).

The company claims that this construction guarantees a clearly defined midrange and deep, fast bass. The dB Module Model 2E speakers feature a fixed dome tweeter. The speaker enclosures are striking, in part due to their beveled front panel. This asymmetrical shape reduces the likelihood of standing waves within the enclosure. Furthermore, there's no need to angle the speakers toward the listener; they can be positioned parallel, saving space. The icing on the cake is a bass reflex port on the bottom of the enclosure, allowing the speakers to be placed even close to walls.

Feet screwed into threaded bushings molded into the enclosure create the necessary space for the port to operate effectively. The speakers can also be wall-mounted, suspended from a frame. In this configuration, the speakers "float" within the frame and are supported by two steel cables with a leather strap. Clamps allow the cable length to be easily adjusted, thereby adjusting the suspension height. Another option is to mount the dB Module Model 2E speakers on a stand with a through-hole in the platform at the same level as the port.
