The German loudspeaker manufacturer Bärbox presented its first product – the floorstanding loudspeaker B.01 – in the summer of 2025. The company has now introduced a new A series, which includes the floorstanding A.01 and the bookshelf A.02, both featuring horn-loaded tweeters. Both models are available in two finish options.

Bärbox was founded by Christian Fischer, a mechanical engineer with a strong passion for music, craftsmanship, and design. His ambition is to create loudspeakers that are not only functional, but also perceived as an integral part of modern living spaces. Instead of mass production, Bärbox focuses on small production runs and a high degree of hand craftsmanship. The company’s portfolio is compact yet clearly structured. In addition to the elegant floorstanding A.01, the A series includes the more compact A.02, designed for smaller rooms. The range is complemented by the floorstanding Bärbox B.01, which impresses with its classic design and expressive wood finishes. All models follow the same philosophy: timeless design, high-quality materials, and a clear focus on quality rather than fleeting trends.

The cabinet of the floorstanding Bärbox A.01 is made from carefully selected wood that combines robustness with a unique appearance for each individual unit. Grain patterns, colors, and finishes are intentionally left visible. Nothing looks artificial or interchangeable. Each loudspeaker is handcrafted, meticulously finished, and built with great attention to detail.
The wide variety of wood types and color options is particularly appealing. From light, modern finishes to dark, elegant tones, the manufacturer states that the Bärbox A.01 integrates seamlessly into any interior – whether Scandinavian, minimalist, or classic in style. Thanks to the high level of craftsmanship, edges, transitions, and surfaces are not only visually refined, but also designed to remain relevant and durable over the long term.

From a technical standpoint, the system is based on a precisely engineered horn for the tweeter, which directs sound waves toward the listener at a defined dispersion angle. The chosen horn geometry increases efficiency, reduces distortion, and ensures an airy, detailed sound reproduction even at higher volume levels. The Bärbox A.01 measures 100 × 22 × 24 cm and weighs 17 kg. The specified frequency response extends from 38 Hz to 20 kHz. With a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, the sensitivity is rated at 86 dB (2.83 V / 1 m). The recommended retail price of the Bärbox A.01 is €5,490 per pair, with a choice of two finish options.

In addition to the floorstanding Bärbox A.01, the A series also includes the compact two-way monitor loudspeaker Bärbox A.02, which is likewise offered in two color variants. Thanks to the horn-loaded tweeter originally developed for the B.01, the compact A.02 delivers excellent linearity, according to the manufacturer. Uniformly rounded edges and smooth transitions contribute to a clean and dynamic sound. In the low-frequency range, a natural-fiber cone provides a level of precision that, according to the designers, would not normally be expected from such a compact loudspeaker.

The Bärbox A.02 measures 38 × 21 × 24 cm and weighs 8.5 kg. With an impedance of 8 ohms, sensitivity is rated at 87 dB (2.83 V / 1 m), and the specified frequency response ranges from 43 Hz to 20 kHz. The bookshelf loudspeakers Bärbox A.02 are offered at a recommended retail price of just under €3,000 per pair.
For listeners who value authentic materials, expressive horn dynamics, and timeless aesthetics, the name Bärbox is certainly one to remember.
