Externally, the Luxman CL-1000 is similar to the classic Luxman C-1000 model - but, according to the company, the device has radically changed its circuitry. The core of the Luxman CL-1000 is the LEKUTA transformer unit (Luxman Electrically Controlled Ultimate Transformer Attenuator), which uses 34 positions.
The Luxman C-700u preamp inherits the versatility and high sound quality of the C-600F, but has a higher gain: 12 dB versus 10.5 dB for the C-600F. Externally, the C-700u is similar to its fully balanced older brother, the C-900u, but does not have a symmetrical circuit topology, despite the presence of XLR connectors.
