Engineering and use context

A D'Appolito layout puts the tweeter midway between the pair of woofers. Fyne Audio states that this layout provides smooth dispersion through the crossover region and widens the listening area off the main axis. The crossover uses a 2nd order low-pass slope for the woofers and a 3rd order high-pass slope for the tweeter. It is the only F300i model fitted with bi-wire terminals, which are gold plated. MDF panels are cross-braced internally, and the bass driver magnet is tied to the bracing by a damping mastic, while a spiked plinth broadens the stance. Among the crossover parts are a laminated core inductor with low losses and polypropylene capacitors, and each multi-fibre paper woofer has a FyneFlute rubber surround with a phase plug in its middle. A phase loss compensator sits inside the tweeter's mesh cover, and the tweeter motor uses a powerful neodymium magnet. The cabinet comes in Walnut, Black Ash or Light Oak, and its cabinet footprint matches that of the smaller F302i.

Pairing

Within the F300i Series, the F301i stand-mount can serve as a surround speaker and the F300i LCR as the centre channel, giving a matched multi-channel setup around a pair of F303i at the front. The easy nominal load and high sensitivity keep the demands on an AV receiver or stereo integrated amplifier modest.
