The C707 PA is the first-generation active bookshelf speaker pair in the Jamo C700 family, a design from the Danish brand aimed at desktops, TV sets and gaming setups where one box pair replaces a separate amplifier and speakers. It was later succeeded by the C707PA MKII, which Jamo presented in August 2025 with the same woofer size, amplifier rating and five colours. The pair is built around a two-way bass-reflex layout and carries its own Class D amplification plus a set of digital and analogue inputs.
Key specs that matter
A 135 mm woofer reproduces the lows and mids, and a 25.4 mm positive dome tweeter takes the top end, with the crossover placed at 2,500 Hz. Bandwidth is quoted as 55 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB, and the low cut-off at minus 6 dB is 50 Hz. Sensitivity is 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m. The amplifier section delivers 65 W x 2. Each cabinet is 298 mm high, 212 mm wide and 230 mm deep, and the net product weight is 11.8 kg. The shipping carton for the pair measures 555 x 330 x 415 mm. Coverage runs one year for the amplifier electronics and five years for the drive units.
Engineering and use context
Jamo equips the woofer with its Hybrid Composition Conical Cone, a Long Displacement Surround and a central aluminium phase plug. The tweeter is mounted in an Anti-Diffraction WaveGuide and uses a Jamo feature named Tweeter Distortion Reduction. Three EQ controls sit at 100 Hz, 1 kHz and 10 kHz and move each band in 3 dB steps. Bluetooth 5.0 supports SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX HD. Physical inputs include HDMI TV ARC, USB Type-C, optical, RCA and a 3.5 mm jack, which covers a television, a laptop, a games console with optical output and a portable player. The mains supply works at 100 to 120 V and 60 Hz or 220 to 240 V and 50 Hz. Five colours were listed - black, white, blue, yellow and khaki green.
Pairing
With amplification inside the cabinets, the C707 PA connects straight to sources and needs no receiver. A turntable must have a built-in or external phono preamplifier to use the line-level RCA input. The stereo RCA subwoofer output runs from 20 Hz to 160 Hz, letting an active subwoofer handle the deepest notes of film and game soundtracks while the two cabinets carry everything above. The sensitivity and amplifier power give usable headroom for a desk setup or a living room of about 20 m2.
Alternatives
The Jamo C707PA MKII keeps the woofer size and amplifier rating of this pair and adds RCA inputs switchable between line and phono.
