The C705PA MKII is a compact active bookshelf speaker pair from Jamo, the Danish brand, announced on 4 November 2025 as the larger of two new models that widened the C700 range. Its smaller sibling from the same launch is the mini MKII, and the pair arrived a few months after the C707PA MKII went on sale in August 2025. The US launch price was USD 549 per pair, against USD 349 for the mini MKII, and European pricing was set at EUR 549.

Key specs that matter

Jamo builds the speaker around two ways in a ported enclosure. Bass and midrange come from a 105 mm woofer that combines a Hybrid Composition Conical Cone, an LDS surround and an aluminium phase plug, while treble is handled by a 25.4 mm positive dome tweeter. The crossover sits at 2 kHz. Jamo lists a bandwidth of 55 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB and a sensitivity of 85 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m. A Class D amplifier supplies 2 x 45 W. Each box measures 265 mm high, 160 mm wide and 205 mm deep, and the listed net weight is 8 kg.

Engineering and use context

Jamo mounts the dome inside an Anti-Diffraction Waveguide and adds a feature it calls Tweeter Distortion Reduction. A three-band equaliser on the speaker offers fixed steps - the low band at 100 Hz can be raised by 3 or 6 dB, while the mid band at 1 kHz and the high band at 10 kHz each move 3 dB up or down. For wireless playback the speaker relies on Bluetooth 5.0, with codec support for SBC, AAC, aptX and the higher-resolution aptX HD. Wired inputs cover HDMI TV ARC, USB-C, optical, RCA and a 3.5 mm jack, so a television, a computer, a phone and a record deck fitted with a phono preamp can all stay connected at once. Seven finishes are offered - high-gloss black, yellow, blue and green, plus matte grey, green and white. The power supply accepts 100 to 120 V at 60 Hz or 220 to 240 V at 50 Hz.

Pairing

Since Class D power is fitted in the enclosure, the C705PA MKII makes an outboard amplifier or receiver unnecessary, and over HDMI ARC the television handles volume through its own remote. A stereo RCA subwoofer output passes 20 to 200 Hz, which Jamo designed for 2.1 expansion - an active subwoofer can then handle the octave below the limit of the woofer. The compact cabinet suits a desk or a TV sideboard in a room of around 20 m2, while an analogue source such as a CD player connects through the RCA pair.
