Jamo's C707PA MKII is an active two-way bookshelf pair from the Danish brand, priced at USD 699 per pair and AUD 1,399, and premiered in Europe in August 2025. It works in a master and slave arrangement, with amplification, inputs and wireless reception built into the cabinets, and it comes in five colours - black, white, yellow, khaki green and blue.
Key specs that matter
Each cabinet combines a 135 mm (5.25 inch) HCCC woofer, short for Hybrid Composition Conical Cone, working with a 25.4 mm (1 inch) positive dome tweeter, and the crossover between the two is at 2.5 kHz. A Class D amplifier supplies 65 W x 2. Jamo lists a bandwidth of 55 Hz to 20 kHz within plus or minus 3 dB, a -6 dB cut-off at 50 Hz and a sensitivity of 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m. The weight is 11.8 kg. The cabinet measures 298 x 212 x 230 mm, and the bass reflex enclosure has soft contours.
Engineering and use context
The woofer adds a Long Displacement Surround plus a phase plug of aluminium, while the tweeter is set into an Anti-Diffraction Waveguide and uses Tweeter Distortion Reduction. Connections cover Bluetooth 5.0 supporting aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC, a USB Type-C input, an optical input, a 3.5 mm jack, HDMI TV ARC for use with a television, and RCA sockets that switch between line level and phono. That phono setting means a turntable can be plugged in without an external preamplifier. A three-band equaliser acts at 100 Hz, 1 kHz and 10 kHz. A remote control, a removable grille and isolation pads are supplied in the box, and the pads decouple the speakers from the surface they stand on.
Pairing
Jamo presents the pair as a modern desktop sound system, and because the amplifier is already inside, it only needs sources. A television links through HDMI ARC, a computer through USB-C, a phone or tablet over Bluetooth, and a CD player or streamer through the optical or line inputs. For deeper bass, a subwoofer output in the form of a stereo RCA pair is provided with an adjustable crossover range of 20 Hz to 160 Hz, which lets an active subwoofer take over below the chosen point. The master cabinet holds the electronics and the inputs, and the slave speaker is driven from it, so the source cables and the mains lead connect to one unit only.
Alternatives
