Remton audio 481 MK2 – a Tube Phonostage Based on NOS Tesla Resistors

05.03.2025 05:33 | ~1 minute read

The Czech audio equipment manufacturer Remton Audio has introduced a tube (4 x JJ ECC81) phono preamplifier with Remton audio 481 MK2 Limited edition – this approach is explained by the use of NOS Tesla resistors with a deviation of only 0.25 dB in the range from 20 Hz to 50 kHz. These resistors are quite rare, so the circulation of both the first and second versions of the phono preamplifier is limited.

Remton audio 481 MK2 operates in the frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz ±0.3 dB and has an adjustable input impedance (from 36 Ohm to 100 kOhm). Input capacitance can be in the values of 0, 47 pF, 100 pF, 147 pF, 220 pF, 267 pF, 367 pF, and the output impedance of the model is declared at 250 Ohms. Gain is also quite flexible - MM: 42dB, MC high: 62dB, MC low: 68dB.
