The current feedback amplification topology and powerful power supply of the new Accuphase A-48S amplifier provides a large reserve and stable output in pure Class A. For a load with an impedance of 8 ohms, 50 watts are available, and halving the load impedance doubles the output power. With a short-term drop in load impedance to 1 ohm, the amplifier is capable of delivering a power of 400 watts.
The Accuphase A-48S stereo power amplifier replaces the A-48 in the company's lineup. The basic design is essentially the same, but the Accuphase A-48S provides 5 watts more power than the A-48. The damping factor has increased by 25% to 1,000 units, and the noise level has decreased by six percent to 25.2 µV.
The Accuphase A-48S power amplifier output stages employ six power transistors operating in parallel in push-pull mode. This design reduces output impedance, improving the amplifier's ability to control loudspeakers while reducing the load on the transistors.
The Accuphase A-48S stereo power amplifier is now available for sale at a suggested retail price of $12,500.
