Musical Fidelity has launched serial production of the new integrated amplifier Musical Fidelity B1xi – a development of the well-known Musical Fidelity B1 model from the 90s of the twentieth century. Despite its modest dimensions and weight of 7.2 kg, the device uses a fully discrete transistor cascade of class A/B and reaches 2 x 60 W of power when working on speakers with an impedance of 8 Ohms (or 2 x 100 W at 4 Ohms and up to 2 x 140 W at 2 Ohms).
The commutation capabilities of the Musical Fidelity B1xi integrated amplifier include 3 line inputs on RCA connectors, an input of the built-in high-sensitivity low-noise MM phono preamplifier, an HDMI ARC port, optical and coaxial digital inputs (up to 24 bit / 192 kHz, using the built-in digital-to-analog converter based on the ESS Technology ES9018 chip), Bluetooth 5.1 and an analog input on a 3.5 mm mini-jack on the front panel.
There is also a USB-C output for powering (5V / 1A) external devices. The model does not have a built-in streamer and Wi-Fi / Ethernet inputs - the manufacturer deliberately abandoned modules that can quickly become obsolete in the modern market.
The internal architecture of the Musical Fidelity B1xi amplifier provides for the isolation of digital circuits on separate printed circuit boards, each of which is equipped with its own linear power supply. Volume control is via a motorized analog potentiometer, while the preamp and power amp sections are electrically isolated for low noise and clear channel separation.
The Musical Fidelity B1xi integrated amplifier is available now with suggested retail prices of €799 and $879.

QUAD has launched serial production of the QUAD ESL 2812X and QUAD ESL 2912X acoustic systems – the sixth generation of branded speakers replaces the ESL 2812 and ESL 2912, released in 2012.
VAF Research – has released the VAF DC 2S bookshelf loudspeakers – with a relatively affordable retail price of 1,699 Australian dollars, the model accumulates many years of experience of the company (founded in 1978) in audio and offers a sophisticated sound. Each pair of speakers is hand-assembled in Adelaide.
Pro-Ject Audio Systems has released another plug-n-play turntable – the Pro-Ject E1.2. The model comes with a factory-installed tonearm, MM cartridge and dust cover. In addition, the buyer can choose one of three (black, white walnut) finishes – and all this for 329 euros retail.
The Monitor Audio company has provided the seventh generation of the Bronze series - Bronze 7G, which includes five models of acoustic systems. Let us remind you that the first Monitor Audio Bronze loudspeakers entered the market in 1999.
The recently announced OePhi Lounge 2 and OePhi Lounge 2.5 speaker systems have gone on sale. The first model is designed as a bookshelf speaker and is aimed at small rooms, while the larger second speaker (made in a 2.5-way scheme), made in a floor-standing form factor, easily works even in large rooms.
