Audiolab has released a new CD transport, the 6000CDT MKII. This model features a new slot-loading disc mechanism, a significantly redesigned power supply, and improved control systems. Drawing on design elements from the higher-end 7000 and 9000 series, the 6000CDT MKII promises exceptional sound quality.

At the heart of the Audiolab 6000CDT MKII is a slot-loading CD drive equipped with a servo-control system that manages laser focus, tracking, and disc rotation speed. A temperature-compensated crystal oscillator ensures the stability of the digital signal, while the power supply is built around a robust transformer.

Connectivity options for the Audiolab 6000CDT MKII include both optical and coaxial S/PDIF outputs. The transport supports CD, CD-R, and CD-RW discs, as well as discs containing FLAC, WAV, WMA, MP3, and APE files (with sampling rates up to 96 kHz).

A standout feature of the Audiolab 6000CDT MKII is its OLED display. In terms of usability, the unit offers repeat, shuffle, and programmable playback (for up to 99 tracks), along with direct track selection. The Audiolab 6000CDT MKII will be available in late November 2026, offered in black or silver finishes, with a retail price of £399.
