Pro-Ject Debut Carbon – The Original - a New Addition to the Debut Vinyl Lineup

Pro-Ject has announced a new turntable, the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon – The Original, further expanding its globally recognized Debut series. The model features an anti-resonant MDF plinth, precision-machined via CNC, and comes factory-fitted with a proprietary MM (moving magnet) cartridge.

The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon – The Original is equipped with an 8.6” carbon-fiber tonearm, which carries a Pick it S2 MM cartridge—custom-made for Pro-Ject by Ortofon and featuring split-pole pins for enhanced performance. Playback accuracy is further ensured by a low-friction aluminum bearing assembly and an adjustable anti-skating mechanism. The tonearm utilizes a counterweight with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) damping, which helps reduce system resonances by up to 50%.

 At the core of the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon – The Original is a heavy steel platter, mounted on a sub-platter made of glass-fiber reinforced ABS plastic. The turntable employs a belt-drive system, with a main bearing constructed from steel and bronze. It supports playback speeds of 33 and 45 RPM, with manual speed switching. The unit is powered by an AC motor, driven by a precision DC/AC generator and mounted on a TPE suspension system for effective decoupling. 

The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon – The Original comes complete with a Connect it Phono E RCA cable, a removable acrylic dust cover, and a felt platter mat. The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon The Original will go on sale in November 2026; the company will offer three finishes: gloss black, matte black, and natural walnut. The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon The Original will be priced at £499, €599, or $649.
