DACs with an R2R current output, which use simple current division on resistors with a sequential resistance ratio of 1:2:4:8 and so on, have been known since the birth of digital audio.
The dual mono design also allows for a fully balanced differential circuit with 8 channels of digital-to-analog conversion (4-channel AK4499EQ chips). The DMS-800PV uses two DSP (digital signal processing) service circuits, a superstable Crystek clock generator, 14 stabilized power lines for digital and utility circuits, two stabilized power lines for analog output stages, and many other large and small parts that work for sound quality.
