The output stages of the Audio Research I/70 integrated amplifier are built on four vacuum octane beam tetrodes 6550 and provide a power of 2 × 70 watts. An important practical feature is the presence of an automatic bias system in the amplifier, which ensures the operation of the 6550 lamps at the optimal point without the need for manual adjustment. In addition to stable sound quality, it is also designed to extend the life of the lamps and reduce the need for maintenance.
