The AT-LP60XBT-GD is a gold-finished limited run of the AT-LP60XBT, the wireless automatic turntable from Audio-Technica. It was produced for Record Store Day 2025, held on April 12, and was made in limited numbers for the United States. The advertised price was USD 199. Apart from the gold colour, the mechanism, electronics and cartridge are those of the regular black and white-black versions.
Key specs that matter
Rotation comes from a DC servo-controlled motor turning the platter by belt, at 33 1/3 rpm for LPs and 45 rpm for singles. The platter is cast from aluminium. Published figures are below 0.25 percent wow and flutter (weighted, 3 kHz) and more than 50 dB signal-to-noise on the DIN-B curve. Wireless transmission uses Bluetooth 5.0 with the SBC and aptX codecs. At the RCA side the internal RIAA stage offers 36 dB of gain and switches between a PHONO level of 2.5 mV and a LINE level of 150 mV at 1 kHz. Footprint is 359.5 by 373.3 mm, height 97.5 mm, and weight 2.6 kg.
Engineering and use context
The pickup is Audio-Technica's Dual Magnet design, a moving magnet cartridge in which the diamond sits on a user-replaceable stylus assembly, catalogued as the ATN3600L. Because the entire record cycle is automated, the listener presses a button to lower the arm and the mechanism lifts and returns it at the end of the side. Bluetooth output and the wired output are both built in, so the gold unit can run as a regular wired turntable or stream to a wireless speaker. The LP60X series received a new tonearm base and headshell compared with the earlier AT-LP60, with the stated aim of better tracking and less resonance, and the platter is a die-cast part designed against ringing. Power is supplied from an external AC adapter so that mains conversion takes place outside the plinth.
Pairing
A compact Bluetooth speaker or aptX headphones make the shortest setup, with no cable between turntable and speaker. Wired, the LINE position feeds active monitors or an AUX input directly, and the PHONO position is for amplifiers with their own moving magnet input. Spare styli for the gold edition are the ones used across the rest of the series, since only the cosmetics differ.
Alternatives
The AT-LP60X uses the same automatic belt-drive platform without any wireless module and is sold in regular finishes.
