Engineering and use context

Its compression dome is placed concentrically within the cone, so the high and low frequency sections share one acoustic origin. The cabinet is built from pressed high density birch ply with curved panels and heavy internal bracing, and uses twin cavity tuning. Its port fires downward onto a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser that spreads low frequency output evenly in all horizontal directions, which reduces how much the bass depends on distance to the rear wall. Fyne reworked the crossover through computer modelling and listening tests, and it now uses Claritycap capacitors, Neotech PC-OCC internal wiring and gold-plated WBT Nextgen 0703 terminals for bi-wiring. The network combines second order low pass filtering with a first order high pass section, and it goes through an in-house cryogenic treatment. A separate grounding terminal is fitted to reduce radio frequency interference. The speaker stands on a heavy aluminium platform of F1 grade with M12 threaded support cones whose height is adjustable for levelling.

Being efficient and benign in impedance, the F702SP does not need a high-current amplifier, and Fyne aims it at medium and large rooms. The bi-wire terminals take a pair of speaker cables or a bi-amp setup on each cabinet.
