The F700 is the compact bookshelf speaker of the F700 series from Fyne Audio, and it carries technology passed down from the F1 range at the top of the Scottish maker's catalogue. The cabinets are handcrafted and built in the UK, and Fyne lists the pair at GBP 3,499.99 including VAT. The F700 series was later succeeded by the F700SP Special Production line, whose standmount is the F701SP.

Everything comes from one 150 mm IsoFlare point source unit, pairing a multi-fibre cone for low and middle frequencies on a FyneFlute surround with a 25 mm magnesium dome compression tweeter driven by a neodymium magnet system. The crossover point is 1.7 kHz. Sensitivity is 89 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, nominal impedance 8 ohm, and the quoted frequency response is 40 Hz to 34 kHz at -6 dB, typical in room. Engineering and use context

With the tweeter set into the centre of the cone, the two drive sections share an axis and a time alignment, so the output behaves as a point source. Fyne forms this cabinet from dense birch plywood, chosen for low resonance, and uses a twin-cavity tuning system. Its panels are sculpted, with each curve calculated so that internal standing waves are dispersed, and extensive bracing stiffens the walls further. At the base the reflex port fires down into a BassTrax diffuser, a Tractrix-shaped cone that turns the port output into an even wavefront around the speaker. The passive network is a bi-wired, low-loss design with 12 dB per octave slopes feeding the cone and 6 dB per octave slopes feeding the tweeter, and it receives Fyne's Cryo-Lite treatment. Separate terminal pairs for the two sections let owners feed the woofer and tweeter filters through separate cables.

The moderate sensitivity and benign nominal impedance make the F700 an easy load that works with a broad spread of integrated amplifiers inside Fyne's recommended power window. The bi-wire terminals also allow a bi-amped setup with a pair of stereo power amplifiers. Fyne positions the model for listeners with limited space.
