The C113 is a passive two-way stand-mount loudspeaker in the current Concert Series from Jamo, the Danish brand whose Concert name dates back to the Concert 8 bookshelf and Concert 11 tower of 1996. The line was redesigned in 2014 under industrial designer Kieron Dunk, and the C113 continues his work as the compact model beside the C119 three-way floorstander. Jamo lists it at USD 1,999 per pair, finished in High Gloss Black with satin-painted MDF baffles and chrome accents.

Key specs that matter

A 165mm woofer and a 25.4mm positive dome tweeter share a bass-reflex cabinet, with the crossover set at 1.8 kHz. Jamo gives a frequency response of 48 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB and a lower cut-off of 42 Hz at the 6 dB point. Sensitivity is 86 dB measured with 2.83V at 1 m, and nominal impedance is 6 ohm. Power handling is rated at 150 W, with 300 W as the peak figure, and the maker suggests amplifiers delivering more than 50 W. Each cabinet measures 420 x 225 x 305 mm (height, width, depth) and has a listed net weight of 22.5 kg. Bi-wire terminals are fitted at the rear.

Engineering and use context

Jamo fits the woofer with a Hybrid Composition Conical Cone, a Jamo design first introduced in the 2014 Concert range and described by the company as pairing the stiffness of aluminium or titanium with the self-damping of wood fibre to curb cone resonance. A Long Displacement Surround lets the cone travel further for low-frequency output, and an aluminium phase plug replaces a conventional dust cap at the centre of the driver. The tweeter sits in an Anti-Diffraction Waveguide, intended to limit diffraction as its output meets the front baffle, while Tweeter Distortion Reduction addresses distortion in the dome assembly. With this low crossover point, the tweeter takes over relatively early, leaving the woofer to cover the lower and middle bands. The bass-reflex tuning is what allows a two-way box of this size to reach into the low 40 Hz region.

Pairing

Its modest sensitivity means the C113 needs more drive than typical bookshelf models with higher efficiency, and the sibling C119 floorstander is rated at 89 dB. A solid-state integrated or pre and power combination that comfortably meets the recommended power is a practical starting point, and owners with a second stereo amplifier can use the split terminals to drive woofer and tweeter sections on separate channels. Sturdy stands are advisable given the weight of each cabinet.

Alternatives

The Jamo C93 II is another bookshelf loudspeaker in the current Jamo catalogue for buyers comparing stand-mounts within the brand.
