Kerr Acoustic K400 – Professional Monitor for Home Systems
British company Kerr Acoustic has introduced the K400, a compact two-way loudspeaker system. The new model has become the most affordable and most home-oriented professional loudspeaker in the manufacturer’s catalogue. Kerr Acoustic originally specialised in loudspeakers for recording studios, but around three years ago entered the consumer market with the K300, K320 and K100 models. Why 2026 Will Bring a Decisive Shift in High-End Audio?
For many years, High-End audio was associated with a "big" system in a large space - a dedicated listening room, large floorstanding speakers, and a component audio system. Oh, and let's not forget the super-expensive cables, stands, power supply filtering systems, and anti-resonance mountings. This paradigm not only defined system architecture but also became, essentially, an axiom for High-End audio.
What high-end audio is & why it matters
The label refers less to a price point than to engineering latitude. Designers can use machined aluminium enclosures, separate power supplies, discrete output stages and hand-matched drivers. Speakers grow to five-way designs and several hundred kilograms, turntables use air bearings or massive platters, and DACs move to multi-chassis layouts. Prices climb into six figures, and such systems are often demonstrated by appointment.
