The built-in player is implemented on a quad-core ARM processor. The software is developed by Matrix Audio and is based on Linux OS. The Element M2 is capable of playing files over a network from a NAS and from local disks connected via USB ports on the back of the device. It supports the main music file formats and supports PCM (up to 768 kHz) and DSD (up to DSD512) recordings.
