The VTL TL2.5 preamp is a relatively inexpensive tube preamp designed for maximum realistic unpainted music playback. It has all the necessary functions to coordinate and control other components of the audio system. The VTL TL 2.5 has 6 line inputs, allows additional installation of a phono corrector, and is equipped with two pairs of outputs, a tape loop and a processor loop.
The VTL TL 5.5 Series II preamp is a modified version of this model, which uses a number of innovative solutions that have been applied in the company's top TL-7 preamp.5. In the new version of the preamp, the developers have retained such key qualities as the fully tube design, the ability to install an optional phonoscade, as well as a unique sound reproduction concept.
The VTL TL 6.5 Series II Signature uses a fully discrete balanced circuit, a FET buffer in combination with lamps (2 x 12AU7/ECC82), an ultra-precise volume control (95 steps, 70 dB) and a brand new power supply.
The new model has incorporated numerous technological advances, while retaining the best elements of the TL-7.5 platform. The proven advantages of the original system architecture include: a fully balanced differential design; a hybrid circuit that combines tubes in a gain stage to provide voltage linearity (less than 2 dB NFB) with a MOSFET buffer for greater current throughput; a high-resolution volume control; and a clean box/dirty box architecture with multiple precision controlled power supplies.
The VTL TP-2.5 tube phono corrector, made in a separate case, is designed for joint use with integrated and pre-amplifiers that are not equipped with phonoscades. The phono corrector is designed to work with both MM and MS cartridges. It is assembled using audiophile-class electronic components and is equipped with a toroidal power transformer with a radio frequency interference filter.
The VTL TP-6.5 phono corrector uses hybrid (JFET/tube) circuitry to minimize noise, several low-noise cascaded stabilizers, and shielded power supplies to improve dynamics. The VTL TP-6.5 provides high-precision RIAA correction and has a 68 dB gain on balanced outputs. All necessary settings and adjustments can be performed both from the front panel and from the remote control.
The amplifier design uses a full-fledged active preamp stage. The VTL IT-85 has a power of 60 watts per channel, and its playback quality is almost identical to that provided by the combination of a TL-2.5 preamp and an ST-85 power amplifier. The VTL IT-85's sound has all the qualities that VTL products are so valued for all over the world – it's fast, very musical, three-dimensional, with powerful, beautifully crafted bass.
The VTL ST-85 is a compact stereo amplifier using 4 EL34 lamps, delivers a solid 60 watts of power per channel and offers full “VTL sound”, but at a real price. Using the classic "workhorse" approach that formed the basis of VTL sound, the EL34 models are made in a compact package with short signal transmission paths.
The VTL ST-150 is a stereo amplifier with more than 150 watts per channel (300 watts stereo power) that delivers excellent sound clarity and sufficient power in one compact package, while delivering exceptionally realistic and detailed sound. The ST-150, made exclusively by hand by experienced craftsmen using the highest quality parts, is a high-quality, high-power stereo tube amplifier offered by VTL.
The VTL S-200 stereo power amplifier is well known to connoisseurs of high-end audio playback due to its excellent performance and reasonable price. The new version of the amplifier uses a fully balanced differential input stage, from which the signal passes to a differential phase distributor and a push-pull low-resistance output stage with an improved, fully balanced, dual transformer.
Tube stereo power amplifier. Reference Series. Output power: At 4 ohms Tetrode - 400 Watts, Triode - 200 watts; At 8 ohms Tetrode - 300 Watts, Triode - 150 watts. The VTL S-400 power amplifier is part of the American company's Reference series of equipment. It uses a number of technical solutions used in the top-end Siegfried monoblock power units, but it has a stereo design. With a huge power of 400 watts per channel, which is enough to play any compositions with any speaker systems, the VTL S-400 is at the same time capable of transmitting the most subtle nuances of a piece of music.
The VTL MB-125 monoblock lamp power amplifier is a fairly compact monoblock lamp power amplifier. This model is designed both for installation in a stereo system and for use in a home theater system. The amplifier design uses 2 12AT7 and 4 EL34 lamps. Unlike the more "older" models, there is no automatic lamp offset current adjustment scheme – BIAS adjustments are made manually, independently for each of the lamps.
The VTL-MB185 Series II monoblock tube power amplifier has the same high playback quality and thoughtful balanced design as its "older brother" VTL-MB450 Series II, but it uses 6 6550C lamps and a more compact output transformer, so its power is "only" 220 watts.
The playback quality of the new VTL MB-450 has also been improved by using a shorter, faster and fully balanced negative feedback loop, with total negative feedback being zero. As a result of the use of local negative coupling, it was possible to get rid of ringing at high frequencies, in addition, the amplifier does not require the use of tuning capacitors to maintain the phase coherence of the reproduced signal.
The veteran of the high-power tube amplifier market outputs up to 650 watts of power in tetrode mode, with 12 6550 type lamps used in each channel. Huge stabilized power supplies and an impressive case are responsible for the impressive weight of 90 kilograms per monoblock or 180 kg for a stereo system.
