The ToneWinner SW-D9000 is an active subwoofer from Guangzhou Tonewinner Electronics fitted with one 18-inch driver, the only 18-inch model in the SW-D series. It shares the series layout of a Class D amplifier, a built-in DSP, a touch-screen LCD and phone app control, and ToneWinner shows it as the low-frequency part of a full home theater package built around its own AT-200 processor.
Key specs that matter
ToneWinner specifies the amplifier section at 1500 W RMS into 3 ohms, with a peak rating of 8000 W into the same load. The frequency range is given as 11 Hz to 200 Hz, and the maker lists a maximum SPL of 120 dB(C), measured as peak music level at 1 m. Air volume displacement of the driver is 2.95 litres. The cabinet has a footprint of 630 mm by 695 mm, stands 832 mm tall and weighs about 87 kg, while the shipping carton is 692 x 839 x 819 mm and the gross weight about 99 kg. The mains input accepts 110-115 V or 220-230 V at 50 or 60 Hz.
Engineering and use context
The 18-inch driver alone weighs 22.2 kg. It is driven by a 115 mm voice coil and a dual magnet assembly with a diameter of 253 mm. The enclosure is solid MDF. The DSP handles the tuning, and the owner can adjust it either on the full-function LCD touch screen or from a mobile phone, including four presets called normal, strong, deep and user. The rear panel carries several connection types, among them a balanced input. The phone app is also used for software updates, and the amplifier is covered by professional circuit protection. Because of the weight and depth of the cabinet, the SW-D9000 needs a floor position that can carry close to 90 kg and a clear path for moving it into place.
Pairing
ToneWinner's own reference cinema combination lists the AT-200 alongside the SP-8500, CK-120, TD-10 and QS-6 with the SW-D9000 handling the low end. More generally, any surround receiver with a sub pre-out can feed it through the balanced or unbalanced input. The dual-voltage supply lets one version serve markets on either mains standard. Within the SW-D series, the 12-inch SW-D4000 and 15-inch SW-D6000 run on 800 W amplifiers, while the SW-D9000 shares its amplifier ratings with the dual 15-inch SW-D8000 and SW-D8000PRO, which quote ranges starting at 13 Hz and 12 Hz respectively, so the 18-inch model has the lowest quoted limit in the series.
