The ToneWinner SW-D8000PRO is a subwoofer with two 15-inch drivers and onboard DSP, made by Guangzhou Tonewinner Electronics and introduced by the company in July 2024. Compared with the SW-D8000, it uses a larger cabinet and places the two drivers close together, side by side and firing in the same direction, in a wide enclosure that can stand either horizontally or vertically. Its amplifier rating is shared with the SW-D8000 and the 18-inch SW-D9000, while the SW-D4000 and SW-D6000 use single 12-inch and 15-inch drivers with lower-rated amplifiers. Against the standard SW-D8000, the PRO version quotes a slightly deeper lower limit and a 2 dB higher SPL ceiling.
Key specs that matter
Its Class D amplifier provides 1500 W RMS into 3 ohms, with a peak-to-peak figure of 8000 W. ToneWinner lists a frequency range of 12 Hz to 220 Hz and a maximum SPL of 121 dB(C), taken as peak music level at 1 m, with an air volume displacement of 2.41 litres. The cabinet measures 930 mm wide, 650 mm deep and 612 mm high and weighs about 85 kg net, or about 96 kg packed in a 1085 x 800 x 730 mm carton. Supply voltage is 110-115 V at 60 Hz or 220-230 V at 50 Hz. The box includes a user manual, a power cord and a certificate of qualification.
Engineering and use context
The two woofers use semi-loose paper cones and high-elasticity rubber surrounds that the maker describes as wear-resistant. Six reflex ports sit on the front panel. The owner can switch between reflex and closed operation in the app and plug chosen ports with acoustic sponge inserts, deciding how many and which ones to close. The app also covers volume, port tuning, polarity, phase between 0 and 180 degrees, HPF, LPF, filter slope, EQ, auto standby without input, the level at which it wakes and input sensitivity, plus four modes named deep, normal, strong and user. An LCD touch screen offers local control, and firmware updates are delivered wirelessly. Because the cabinet is close to one metre wide, the two placement orientations help fit it into the available floor space.
Pairing
The subwoofer accepts signal over XLR or RCA and has a low-frequency output for linking another unit, so it works with any surround receiver or processor that has a sub output. ToneWinner lists it for movies, music, karaoke and gaming.
Alternatives
In a more compact cabinet with the same pair of 15-inch drivers, ToneWinner makes the SW-D8000.
