The ToneWinner SW-D6000 is a powered subwoofer from Guangzhou Tonewinner Electronics built around one 15-inch driver. Like the other SW-D models, it combines a Class D amplifier with an onboard DSP, a touch-screen LCD and Wi-Fi control through the company's subwoofer app, and the maker positions it for multichannel home theater systems that need extra low-frequency output. In the SW-D family it keeps the amplifier rating of the 12-inch SW-D4000 but uses a larger driver, while the dual-driver SW-D8000 and SW-D8000PRO and the 18-inch SW-D9000 step up to 1500 W. The phone app gives access to gain, phase and the listening mode.

Key specs that matter

Rated amplifier power is 800 W into a 3 ohm impedance, and ToneWinner quotes 4000 W as the peak value. The published frequency range is 15 Hz to 220 Hz. The cabinet is 480 mm wide, 598 mm high and 628 mm deep, and net weight is 42 kg, rising to 47 kg in the carton. Connections consist of a balanced XLR input, an unbalanced RCA input and one subwoofer output. It runs on either 110-115 V or 220-230 V AC.

Engineering and use context

The 15-inch driver combines a cone mounted on an aluminium casting with an elastic surround, a 75 mm voice coil and a double magnet motor. Three reflex ports sit on the front of the MDF cabinet, and a sealed mode, selected from the app or the touch screen, closes them so the enclosure works as a closed box. Signal processing includes a 7-band parametric EQ, frequency range adjustment, phase switching between 0 and 180 degrees and four listening presets named deep, normal, strong and user. The LCD is fitted upside down on the top edge, so the owner reads it by looking down over the cabinet, and four touch buttons sit on the screen. Firmware can be upgraded wirelessly, and the amplifier powers down automatically when the input stays silent. ToneWinner also lists professional protection circuits.

Pairing

The balanced input suits AV processors and receivers with an XLR subwoofer output, while the RCA jack covers the more common unbalanced LFE connection. ToneWinner presents the SW-D series alongside its Dolby Atmos AV receivers. The single subwoofer output lets a second unit be linked in a daisy chain, which is a practical route to two subwoofers in one room.

Alternatives

A smaller option in the SW-D line is the ToneWinner SW-D4000, which uses a single 12-inch driver.
