The SONIK 7 is one of three floorstanding models in the SONIK range from DALI, the Danish maker's seven-model family that launched globally on 2 February 2026 as the successor to the OBERON series of 2018. It stands between the SONIK 5 and the SONIK 9 among the towers, while the rest of the range comprises the SONIK 1 and SONIK 3 stand-mounts, the SONIK ON-WALL and the SONIK CINEMA LCR model. The series draws on engineering from DALI's KORE, EPIKORE and EPICON platforms. Launch prices were USD 2,800, EUR 1,498, GBP 1,299 and AUD 2,549 per pair.
Key specs that matter
This is a 2.5-way bass reflex design with crossover points at 2,300 Hz and 14,000 Hz. Quoted frequency range runs from 36 Hz to 30,000 Hz within 3 dB, sensitivity at 88.5 dB for 2.83 V at 1 m, nominal impedance at 6 ohm and maximum output at 110 dB at 1 m. Bass reflex tuning sits at 39 Hz. Each cabinet stands 1,006 mm tall and 330 mm deep and weighs 16.2 kg. Buyers can choose Natural Oak, Walnut, White or Black Ash.
Engineering and use context
At the top sits the DALI Hybrid Tweeter System, which combines a low-loss 29 mm soft dome and a 17 x 45 mm planar magnetostatic tweeter that takes over at the top of the band, a combination DALI specifies for wide dispersion. The dome is made of a woven fabric weighing 0.060 mg per square millimetre. Below it work two 7-inch low-loss Clarity Cone drivers, whose diaphragms mix paper and wood fibres for low mass, stiffness and resonance control. Their motors use DALI's patented SMC Essential Magnet System, built on Soft Magnetic Composite, which DALI employs to lower distortion. Enclosures are made from MDF shaped by CNC machining, with stiff internal bracing intended to reduce resonance, and the bass drivers sit in separate internal chambers. Two dual-flare reflex ports vent the enclosure and are shaped for low turbulence. Magnetic front grilles are supplied, and the cabinet has clean lines with rounded edges. Rubber feet as well as spikes are supplied with each speaker.
Pairing
DALI recommends amplifiers delivering 30 to 180 W per channel for the SONIK 7. Within the same series, the SONIK CINEMA can take the centre position and the SONIK ON-WALL the surround positions when a pair of these towers forms the front of a multichannel system.
Alternatives
The DALI SONIK 9 is the other large tower of the SONIK range and sits above the SONIK 7 in the lineup.
