The RUBIKORE 6 is the shorter of the two floorstanding models in DALI's RUBIKORE range, below the RUBIKORE 8, and follows the older RUBICON 6 with the same cabinet size and the same published response and sensitivity. The range made its debut at the Munich High End exhibition of 2024, with deliveries starting that summer. The North American price was USD 8,000 per pair, and Canadian buyers were quoted CAD 10,000. Cabinets are handcrafted and assembled in Denmark and come in high gloss black, high gloss white, high gloss maroon or natural walnut veneer.

Key specs that matter

Each cabinet holds two 6.5 inch bass and midrange units, a 29 mm woven fabric dome and a 17 x 45 mm planar magnetostatic tweeter. DALI calls the network 2½ + ½-way and splits the band at 800 Hz, 2,600 Hz and 14,000 Hz. Frequency range is 38 Hz to 34,000 Hz within 3 dB, sensitivity is 88.5 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, impedance is 4 ohm nominal and maximum output is 110 dB at 1 m. The maker recommends 40 to 200 W of amplification. A single speaker is 990 mm high, 200 mm wide and 380 mm deep and weighs 23 kg with its grille.

Engineering and use context

In this layout one bass unit rolls off early, while the second covers the bass and midrange up to the dome. Both drivers carry DALI's Clarity Cone, made from paper mixed with wood fibre, and use a double magnet motor with Soft Magnetic Composite parts. The dome in the hybrid tweeter module is a new low-loss unit that runs without ferrofluid in its magnet gap. SMC-KORE inductors sit in the crossover, where DALI uses them to cut signal loss, and the crossover capacitors come from Mundorf. The reflex ports follow DALI's Continuous-Flare shape, which aims to raise port efficiency while lowering turbulence and noise, and they are tuned to 34 Hz. An internally braced enclosure gives the drivers a rigid and inert mounting platform.

Pairing

The terminal panel supports bi-wiring and bi-amping, and the M8 threads in the base accept spikes. Close to 89 dB efficiency means a transistor integrated amplifier of moderate rating can drive the pair, provided it handles the low nominal load without strain. The series also includes the RUBIKORE 2, an on-wall model and the RUBIKORE CINEMA centre channel, so a stereo pair can later be extended into a multichannel system.

A taller floorstanding choice in this DALI range is the RUBIKORE 8, which adds a third bass and midrange driver in a 1,100 mm cabinet weighing 30 kg.
