The Classic 100Ti is a variant of the Spendor Classic 100 three-way stand mount, produced by Spendor Audio Systems in the UK. It keeps the drivers, cabinet volume and crossover network of the standard model and changes the front of the speaker, where a multilayer baffle finished in brushed titanium replaces the wood veneer front of the regular version. The walnut side panels remain. Spendor offers the same Ti treatment on the floorstanding Classic 200Ti.

Key specs that matter

This is a twin port reflex enclosure holding three drive units. Bass comes from a 31 cm unit whose Kevlar composite cone carries a stabilizer disc of the same material, the 18 cm midrange has an EP77 polymer cone, and a 22 mm polyamide dome looks after the highest frequencies. The network divides the signal at 490 Hz and 3.6 kHz. Spendor quotes a typical in-room response of 25 Hz to 25 kHz and a sensitivity of 89 dB at 1 watt and 1 metre, with an 8 ohm nominal rating that falls to 4.7 ohm at its lowest point. The enclosure accepts 200 watts of unclipped programme. Height is 700 mm, width 370 mm and depth 433 mm, and a single speaker weighs 36 kg. Around the back sit three sets of gold plated terminals.

Engineering and use context

Like every model in the Classic series, the 100Ti cabinet uses Spendor Dynamic Damping, and here those damped walnut panels are fixed to a rigid front baffle faced in titanium. The bass and midrange units are proprietary Spendor designs built on magnesium alloy chassis with high efficiency motors. When Spendor updated the Classic range in 2022 it introduced new drive units, reworked crossovers, elastomer panel damping and a new style of magnetic grille, and pairs are matched to a broadcast reference standard during production. Walnut with the titanium faceplate is the only finish listed, and the grille is supplied. The separate terminal pairs for each driver section open the way to tri-wiring or bi-amplification. Spendor recommends placing the 100Ti on the dedicated Classic 100 Stand, an open alloy frame on four pillars with stainless steel top supports and adjustable spikes.

Pairing

Spendor gives a suggested amplifier power range of 25 to 250 watts and says the speaker works with both valve and transistor amplifiers. The low impedance minimum means a design with a stable low-impedance output stage is the safer choice when high levels are needed.
