Letshuoer, based in China, designed the Cadenza4 as a hybrid in-ear monitor that places a single dynamic unit alongside three balanced armature drivers in each shell. The dynamic unit is a 10 mm dual-chambered design with a beryllium coated diaphragm, which Letshuoer describes as light and highly rigid, and the three armatures come from two suppliers - two from Knowles and one from Sonion. The list price is USD 249, well below the brand's hybrid Cadenza12, whose design language it shares.
Key specs that matter
Letshuoer, together with its distributors, rates the Cadenza4 at a sensitivity of 102 dB and an impedance of 15 ohms, with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz. The supplied 1.2 m cable is built from 392 strands of silver-plated monocrystalline copper of high purity, with a plain silver Y-split. It attaches to each earpiece through 0.78 mm two-pin sockets and ends in a system of three interchangeable right-angled plugs.
Engineering and use context
All four drivers are divided by an electronic four-way crossover, which Letshuoer states gives precise control of frequency distribution and reduces phase errors. With four crossover ways and four drivers, the dynamic unit and each of the three armatures receive their own frequency band from the network. Three acoustic tubes guide the output of the drivers to the nozzle, and these are 3D printed at a resolution of 50 microns for consistency between units. The housing was developed together with Heygear Technology using micrometer-level 3D printing. The shell is 3D printed resin in a matte white finish with a nozzle of standard length, and the faceplate is CNC-machined aluminium alloy in silver. The package includes the cable, six silicone tip pairs in small, medium and large sizes, a matte black carrying case with room for both the earpieces and the cable, and a user manual.
Pairing
The interchangeable plugs let the Cadenza4 connect to a 3.5 mm single-ended headphone output or to a 2.5 mm or 4.4 mm balanced output with the same supplied cable, so no second lead is needed when changing sources. Because the cable detaches, it can be replaced separately from the earphones, and any aftermarket lead terminated in standard 0.78 mm two-pin plugs fits the earpieces.
Alternatives
The Letshuoer DZ4 is a cheaper in-ear model by the same maker that uses three 6 mm titanium dome dynamic drivers with a 6 mm passive radiator.
