The ToneWinner AT-200 is an audio and video decoder that combines home theatre processing with karaoke functions in one box. Its surround engine handles the current object formats for systems up to 7.1.4 and hands the line-level signals to external power amplifiers, making it an entry point into the brand's AV processor range.

Key specs that matter

Format support covers Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master together with all earlier Dolby formats, with up to 13 channels of Atmos line output in a 7.2.4 layout. More than ten speaker configurations can be chosen, from 2.0 upward. Outputs come as fully balanced ports and RCA connectors. The maker lists an SNR of at least 98 dB and THD of 0.01 percent or lower, both A-weighted, with response from 10 Hz to 50 kHz (+1/-3 dB) in analog direct mode. Gain is at least 13 dB, input impedance 20 kOhm or higher, output impedance 1 kOhm and channel separation above 80 dB. Video runs through six HDMI 2.0 inputs and two outputs with HDCP 2.2, carrying 18 Gbps bandwidth for 4K/60Hz with Dolby Vision and HDR10.

Engineering and use context

All decoding runs on a dual-core DSP from ADI. A built-in acoustic test measures the room automatically and adjusts frequency balance, channel levels and distances. Each channel offers a parametric EQ of 7 to 11 bands, and lipsync can be delayed by up to 1 second. Alongside HDMI the connection panel offers four analog inputs plus two coaxial and two optical ports, and a 5.1 mixing input allows an outboard mixer for karaoke use. HDMI ARC and CEC are supported, as are RS232, IR inputs and trigger outputs. Input settings are stored independently, sources can be renamed, and audio and video from different inputs can be grouped. A wireless audio receiver and a player for FLAC, APE, WAV and MP3 files on TF card or USB are built in. Control is by smartphone app, and the on-screen menu is in English. The unit is 431 x 317 x 130 mm, weighs 5.3 kg net and 7.2 kg in its carton and accepts 100-240 V at 50 or 60 Hz.

Pairing

Being a processor without power stages, the AT-200 is meant to drive separate multichannel amplifiers, such as ToneWinner's AD series AV power amps, and a 4K display connected to one of its two HDMI outputs. Its karaoke features make it suitable for a room where films and singing share the same speaker system, with microphones routed through an outboard mixer.

Alternatives

The ToneWinner AT-600 is an 8K processor in the same range that adds 8K video and layouts up to 9.3.4.
