The ToneWinner AT-100 is a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos soundbase from Guangzhou Tonewinner Electronics, also known at home as Yuexiang No. 6. The maker calls it its first generation home theatre soundbar. Unlike the split AT-01A and AT-01S system, it places the amplifier and all drivers in one flat cabinet, so a TV on a pedestal stand, including a curved screen model, can stand directly on top of it.

Key specs that matter

The cabinet measures 1200 x 110 x 380 mm and weighs 18 kg, with a packed weight of 22 kg. Driver complement is listed as two 3/4-inch tweeters, two 5-inch woofers and eight 3-inch units, twelve in total, feeding eight channels. Frequency range is 40 Hz to 20 kHz at -10 dB. The maker gives power as 20 W plus 80 W, with the 80 W going to the two woofers, and power consumption as 350 W at most.

Engineering and use context

Three DSP chips share the work. Two Analog Devices SHARC floating-point parts, the 21487 and 21489, decode Dolby Atmos, and a Cirrus Logic CS48560 performs post-processing including virtualisation, sound field expansion and per-driver voicing. Amplification is class D from Texas Instruments. At the front, the left, centre and right channels use 3-inch full-range units, 3-inch mid-bass units and dome tweeters in a two-way arrangement, the side surrounds use 3-inch mid-bass units, while a further pair of 3-inch full-range drivers facing up from the lid creates the reflected height channels. Natural wood pulp paper is used for the mid-bass cones. Each channel has its own internal chamber, and DSP corrects the response of every driver. Five modes are offered, named pure, music, movie, news and custom, with the custom mode saving user parameters. The integrated layout also gives clearer directivity than a split system, according to the maker. The black high-gloss finish is baked at high temperature for resistance to moisture and corrosion.

Pairing

The AT-100 is meant to be the only audio box under a TV, and its wide, deep top surface doubles as the TV support. Disc players and streaming boxes feed it directly, so no separate AV receiver or speaker cabling is needed. With the height and surround channels built into the one box, it needs no extra speakers placed around the room.
