The ToneWinner AD-7300PA+ is a 7-channel power amplifier in the AV series of the Chinese maker, intended to drive the speakers of a multichannel home cinema behind a separate surround processor. It has no decoding or volume stage of its own and simply amplifies the line level signals it receives on each channel.

Key specs that matter

Each channel delivers 310 W RMS into 8 ohm and 515 W RMS into 4 ohm, both measured at 3 percent THD and 1 kHz. In normal working conditions distortion is quoted at 0.09 percent or lower at 1 kHz. Through the analog direct path the A-weighted noise floor lies 100 dB or more down, and frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 50 kHz within plus 1 and minus 3 dB. Voltage gain is fixed at 29.5 dB, and with all seven channels working the total output reaches 2,170 W. That fixed gain means the processor, not the amplifier, sets the listening level. Every channel has both an unbalanced and a balanced input, giving seven of each. The aluminium alloy case measures 440 mm wide, 197 mm high and 445 mm deep and weighs 25 kg on its own, rising to 26.3 kg packed.

Engineering and use context

The balanced inputs suit long runs from a processor placed away from the amplifier, while the unbalanced sockets cover preamps that offer RCA outputs only. The unit can be switched on manually, or a trigger port on the rear panel lets the processor wake it and put it into standby automatically. The black front carries an acrylic panel with blue-lit current meters, and a DIM button lowers their brightness for viewing in a darkened room. ToneWinner fits a protection system that guards against five fault conditions - overvoltage, overheating, overload, overcurrent and short circuit, which matters for an amplifier that may run seven loaded channels at once for long film sessions. Its weight calls for a sturdy shelf or rack with room for ventilation.

Pairing

Obvious partners are ToneWinner processors such as the AT-300 or AT-200, which provide the multichannel pre-outputs this amplifier expects, although any surround decoder offering pre-outs is suitable. Seven channels cover a 5.1.2 or 7.1 layout, and larger layouts with more height speakers need a second amplifier. The low-impedance rating lets it drive demanding floorstanding speakers as well as the easier loads found in most home cinema sets.

Alternatives

The ToneWinner AD-8300PA is the multichannel power amplifier in the same AV range that raises the count to 11 channels for larger Atmos layouts.
