One of the three HDMI outputs supports eARC, and the gaming features ALLM and Variable Refresh Rate are passed through. All six HDMI inputs support 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz, and the unit offers 8K pass-through, 8K scaling and a GUI overlay on 8K signals. HDR formats passed through include HLG, HDR10, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR. Zone audio is available both from speaker terminals and from pre-outs, and one HDMI output is assigned to Zone 2. The network section offers Wi-Fi and a wired Ethernet port with Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and TuneIn, and DSD streams at 2.8 and 5.6 MHz are accepted. Voice control works with Alexa, Google and HomePod. The USB port plays audio files from storage, while Made for iPod and Made for iPhone connection is not supported, and a media server function is included.
Pairing
The full 11.4-channel pre-out section lets an external stereo power amplifier drive the two channels beyond the nine built in, and the four independent subwoofer outputs accept up to four powered subwoofers. HEOS multi-room audio can extend to as many as 64 zones, and the unit is Roon Tested.
