The Fezz Titania is a push-pull valve integrated amplifier built by Fezz Audio of Juchnowiec Koscielny, Poland. The Evolution version described here gained anti-vibration feet sized for the chassis weight, a backlit logo and easily reachable fuses that protect the amplifier if a power valve fails.
Key specs that matter
Output reaches 2 x 45 W from a push-pull class AB1 circuit, with 4 ohm and 8 ohm taps on the output transformers. Frequency response covers 18 Hz to 103 kHz at the -3 dB points, while THD is specified at under 0.2 percent. There are three RCA line inputs, and power consumption rises to 225 W. The net weight is 21 kg and the chassis measures 420 x 380 x 200 mm with the valves in place.
Engineering and use context
Four KT88 beam tetrodes form the output stage, fed by two 12AX7 double triodes working as preamplifier and driver valves. Bias is handled automatically, so replacement KT88 should come as pre-selected pairs or quads. Every power valve has its own 100 mA safety fuse with an LED indicator on the top plate - if a KT88 fails, its fuse blows and the light shows which position needs attention. The mains fuse at the rear is rated 3.15 A slow-blow. A large power transformer housing sits behind the valves, and two output transformer housings complete the top plate. Controls are limited to a volume potentiometer and a rotary input selector, and the rear panel carries the RCA inputs, speaker terminals, a signal ground switch, the IEC socket and the mains switch. Extras on the order list are an HT pre-in connection, sub-out, wireless Bluetooth reception, remote volume control, a metal valve cage and a pack of better-grade replacement valves.
Pairing
The optional HT pre-in input turns the Titania into a stereo power amplifier for use behind a preamplifier with its own volume control or a receiver with a pre-out, and only such devices should be connected to it. The sub-out option adds a feed for a powered subwoofer. For vinyl, Fezz calls for a separate phono stage of MM or MC type, or a deck with its own preamp, and the amplifier must not be powered without speakers attached. Fezz recommends its own FAC 01 interconnect between source and amplifier.
Alternatives
Fezz Audio also makes the Silver Luna Prestige, a lower-powered push-pull valve integrated amplifier that uses four EL34 output valves and delivers 35 W per channel into 8 or 4 ohm loads.
