The Fezz Alfa Lupi is a stereo valve integrated built by Fezz Audio, a Polish company based in Juchnowiec Koscielny near Bialystok. It has been the entry point to the brand's valve amplifier range for years, and the Evolution revision added anti-vibration feet matched to the weight of the chassis together with a backlit Fezz logo. In late 2025 Fezz announced that the new Luna EVO and Luna Mini EVO would replace the long-running Alfa Lupi and Silver Luna.

Key specs that matter

Maximum output is 2 x 10 W from a push-pull stage working in class AB1. Separate 4 ohm and 8 ohm speaker taps are fitted, and Fezz advises using the 8 ohm tap for 6 ohm loudspeakers. Frequency response spans 20 Hz to 120 kHz at -3 dB, with total harmonic distortion under 0.3 percent. Three RCA line inputs are standard, and power consumption is 90 W. Fezz lists a net weight of 15.2 kg and dimensions of 355 x 380 x 175 mm including the valves.

Engineering and use context

The amplifier runs on four PCL86 valves, a triode-pentode type that combines a small-signal section and an output pentode in one glass envelope. An automatic bias module keeps the operating point stable, so replacement valves should be supplied as factory-matched pairs or quads. Toroidal power and output transformers sit on the top plate, the output transformers in their own housings on either side of the valve rows. The front panel carries only a volume potentiometer and a rotary source selector. On the back are the RCA inputs, speaker terminals for both channels, the main fuse holder rated 3.15 A slow-blow, an IEC socket, the mains switch and a signal ground switch for hum problems. Buyers can order a handset for remote operation, a Bluetooth receiver board, a pre-out for a subwoofer, a mesh guard over the valves, an extra pre-in socket and a matched upgrade valve set.

Pairing

With the optional HT pre-in input fitted, the Alfa Lupi works as a stereo power amplifier fed by a standalone preamplifier that has volume adjustment, or by a receiver fitted with pre-out, but Fezz warns that CD players, DACs and similar sources must never go straight into that input. The sub-out option feeds an active subwoofer. Records require an outboard MM or MC preamplifier, and speakers must be connected before power-up.

Alternatives

The Fezz Luna Mini is the brand's compact single-ended class A integrated model, using two EL34 and two 12AX7.
