The Japanese brand Onkyo presented a new series stereo equipment at the CES 2025 exhibition - the Onkyo Icon P-80 network preamplifier, the Onkyo Icon M-80 power amplifier and the Onkyo Icon A-50 streaming integrated amplifier.
Onkyo Icon components are equipped with the Dirac Live Room Correction automatic sound calibration system for adjusting the sound to the characteristics of a listening room. Also, the Onkyo Icon series equipment implements the proprietary Distortion Reduction Dynamic Intermodulation (DIDRC) system to improve the detail of analog recordings by minimizing ultra-high-frequency noise.
The Onkyo Icon P-80 network preamplifier is equipped with a built-in phono preamplifier that supports MM and MC cartridges, an HDMI ARC input and wireless connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Bluetooth. The new preamplifier supports popular streaming services, including Spotify, TIDAL and Amazon Music, and is Roon Ready certified. The built-in DAC operates on the powerful Asahi Kasei AK4452 chip with support for PCM up to 32 bit / 768 kHz.

Onkyo Icon series components will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Onkyo P-80 network preamplifier and Onkyo M-80 power amplifier are priced at $1,999 each, and the Onkyo A-50 integrated amplifier is priced at $1,499. Full specs coming soon.
The new Nagaoka MP-700 cartridge tops the Moving Permalloy (MP) series and will be available in the standard MP-700 and premium MP-700H versions. Compared to conventional moving magnet (MM) cartridges, the Moving Permalloy (MP) variant features a lighter permalloy magnet attached to the cantilever.
Sennheiser has introduced the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Open TWS headphones – the model, designed in a stylish compact design, promises, according to the manufacturer, exceptional comfort during use and a secure fit.
The Ranieri Audio Labs Varieta preamplifier has been released – the model uses directly heated triodes and allows for a wide range of tubes (300B, 2A3/6A3, 12A/201A, 26, 30, 31, 45, 50, 71A, 801A/10Y, 275A/252A, 245 and 842/VT52 will do). Simply ideal for those wishing to experiment with tube rolling.
Accuphase has introduced the Accuphase C-57 phono preamplifier, based on a fully balanced circuit design from output to input with dual mono topology. The Accuphase C-57 also uses a two-stage solution: the first stage is the output stage to ensure matching with MM and MC cartridges, the second stage is the correction amplifier itself.
Last year, Goldmund launched the impressive Goldmund Rhea and Theia acoustics in active versions with a wireless streamer. The all-in-one solution certainly looked brilliant, but High-End fans often prefer component systems. So now the company has introduced the Goldmund Rhea and Theia loudspeakers in a Passive version.
