Built around the Cyrus 40 AMP integrated amplifier, this British and German pairing drives HECO loudspeakers, either the BellaDonna standmount or the Celan Revolution 9 floorstander. The sources come from the Cyrus 40 series and the company's own turntable - a 40 ST streamer, a 40 CD player and a TTP deck carrying an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, so every source plugs straight into one amplifier.
The system at a glance
Seven components are listed, though only one pair of speakers is used at a time, which makes this a two-way choice for a small or mid-sized room. The TTP was priced at GBP 4,295 and the 2M Red at EUR 99, and the electronics sit in the half-width 40 series casework. Vinyl, discs and streaming get equal weight here from one compact stack.
Why these components work together
The 40 AMP delivers 2 x 100 W into 6 ohm, rising to 2 x 113 W with the optional 40 PSU. Both HECO models are rated at 4 to 8 ohm and accept amplifiers from 30 W upwards. The BellaDonna, a two-way with a 200 mm kraft paper woofer and a 30 mm silk dome, reaches 91 dB at 2.83 V, while the three-way Celan Revolution 9, with two 200 mm woofers, a 170 mm midrange and crossovers at 230 Hz and 2,800 Hz, reaches 93 dB and weighs 38.4 kg. Each has a switch that raises the treble by 2 dB. Inside the amplifier sits an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC, and the 40 ST and 40 CD use the same chip, so all digital paths decode through one converter family. The 40 ST streams on BluOS up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD256, is Roon Ready and has coaxial and optical inputs. The 40 CD loads by slot, with no drawer. For vinyl, the TTP has a solid aluminium plinth and platter weighing 24 kg, belt drive from a DC synchronous motor and a TA3 arm based on the Rega RB330. The 2M Red is a moving magnet design, so it plugs into the low-noise MM phono input of the 40 AMP with no extra phono box.
How it sounds
With the Celan Revolution 9 the twin woofers give rock and electronic tracks a fuller low end, while the BellaDonna keeps vocals focused in a smaller space. Both loads are easy for the amplifier, so dynamic peaks come through without strain at normal levels, and the shared DAC keeps tonal balance consistent from CD to streaming.
Considering a similar setup
Choose the speaker by room size - the BellaDonna for smaller spaces, the Celan Revolution 9 where bass extension matters. The 40 PSU is the main upgrade step for the amplifier. A better MM cartridge from the Ortofon 2M family is the easiest vinyl upgrade.

Inside there are low-frequency speakers with a 20mm kraft paper diffuser and a 30mm sound coil. The wires in the coil are aluminum with a copper layer. The basslines are complemented by a 30 mm silk tweeter. The connector in the housing allows you to increase the RF frequency by 2 dB, which has a positive effect on the sound in remote rooms.

The high-end floorstanding speaker from the top model Hi-Fi line from the German manufacturer Heco Celan Revolution 9 Piano Black has 3-bands with a dual low-frequency link. Moreover, for a more confident and palpable bass, 2 woofers have diffusers of 200 mm each.

The Cyrus 40 Amp is equipped with a DAC based on the ESS ES9039Q2M chip and offers several digital and analog inputs, including a low-noise MM phono corrector input for vinyl playback. There is also an HDMI arc port for connecting a TV. It has a power of 100 watts per channel when operating on a load with a nominal resistance of 6 ohms.

The new 40 Series DAC is integrated into the Cyrus 40 CD Player. The ESS ES9039Q2M DAC chipset uses a powerful processor to ensure high fidelity. The CD player is equipped with a boot slot and does not have a drawer. The mechanism is equipped with an accurate servo drive and securely locks the disc, preventing shaking.

The base and disc of the Cyrus Audio TTP player are made of aluminum. The DC synchronous motor has a specially designed digital control circuit and is characterized by very low vibration and flutter at a stable speed. The Cyrus Audio HTTP player is equipped with a port for connecting an optional PSX-R2 power supply, which supplies voltage to the motor.
