Nordost has expanded the top tier of its power product range with the QBASE Gold, a new flagship AC power distributor designed for ultimate high-end audio systems. The model was developed primarily as a companion to the Odin Gold cable series and, according to the manufacturer, is intended to provide a comparable level of transparency, coherence, and neutrality at the power delivery stage.

The internal wiring of the QBASE Gold is made with Odin Gold power cable. At the same time, Nordost has retained its proprietary passive approach to AC power distribution. The design incorporates a star-earth topology along with the company’s QPOINT, QSINE, and QWAVE technologies, which are used to optimize power conditions for connected audio components.

Particular attention has also been paid to the mechanical design. The distributor’s chassis is mechanically tuned to reduce the influence of vibration and other physical disturbances on system performance. Nordost maintains that in reference-level audio systems, even the supporting power infrastructure can affect the overall stability and coherence of the components.

For system connectivity, the QBASE Gold features one 32A powerCON input, two 32A powerCON outputs, and eight standard AC outlets. This configuration is intended for large-scale audio systems with multiple high-power components and demanding requirements for stable and properly organized power distribution.
Nordost positions the QBASE Gold as the final element in a system built entirely around Odin Gold components. As such, the unit is presented not simply as a power distributor, but as part of a unified reference-level Nordost infrastructure designed to ensure the most coherent possible interaction between cables, components, and the power supply system.
