Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary – Limited-Edition Loudspeakers Featuring IsoFlare Driver and SuperTrax Super Tweeter

Scottish audio manufacturer Fyne Audio has unveiled the exclusive F1-10 Anniversary floorstanding loudspeakers, created to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the development of the original F1-10 model. The anniversary edition incorporates a range of technical improvements affecting the driver design, crossover networks, and cabinet acoustics. Development was led by the company's Technical Director, Dr. Paul Mills, with particular attention paid to reproduction accuracy and spatial sound characteristics. One of the most significant innovations is the integration of the company's proprietary SuperTrax super tweeter directly into the top of the loudspeaker cabinet. Production of the Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary is limited to just 30 pairs, each handcrafted at the company's facility in Glasgow and individually numbered.

At the heart of the Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary is a specially developed 250 mm IsoFlare coaxial driver, combining a bass driver with a compression high-frequency unit. The latter features a 75 mm diaphragm made from chemically strengthened aluminosilicate glass, replacing the conventional titanium dome. According to the manufacturer, the properties of this material provide up to seven times more effective suppression of unwanted resonances compared with traditional metal diaphragms. The engineers have also optimized the geometry of the annular waveguide using computer modeling. High-frequency extension is handled by the integrated SuperTrax super tweeter, equipped with a 25 mm Thin Ply Carbon diaphragm. Its output is directed toward a specially designed Tractrix diffuser, providing 360-degree sound dispersion. The super tweeter operates from 16 kHz and extends the upper frequency response to 60 kHz. Users can adjust its output level within a ±3 dB range, while independent controls are also provided for overall high-frequency energy and the presence region between 2.5 and 5 kHz.

Other elements of the loudspeaker have also undergone substantial modernization. The newly developed crossover network employs carefully selected components, including ClarityCap PUR polypropylene capacitors, laminated-core inductors, and non-inductive thick-film resistors. All connections are made using point-to-point wiring rather than conventional printed circuit boards. Low-frequency reproduction relies on Fyne Audio's proprietary BassTrax Tractrix system, in which a downward-firing bass reflex port works in conjunction with a profiled diffuser to distribute bass energy evenly around the loudspeaker. The cabinet's internal volume is divided into two chambers, helping to reduce standing waves and improve the efficiency of the bass reflex system. The enclosure itself is constructed from high-density birch plywood with extensive internal bracing, while the exterior combines natural American walnut veneer, polished walnut burl, and champagne-gold metal accents.

Despite their sophisticated engineering, the Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary loudspeakers are designed to work with a relatively wide range of amplifiers. Their sensitivity is rated at 94 dB, nominal impedance is 8 ohms, and the recommended amplifier power ranges from 20 to 280 watts. The specified frequency response extends from 26 Hz to 60 kHz at −6 dB, while each loudspeaker weighs 58.7 kg. The exclusive nature of this limited edition is further emphasized by an extensive accessory package: buyers receive a signed certificate of authenticity, a commemorative booklet, Neotech jumper cables, adjustment tools, and special floor-protecting supports.
